Ilene W. Smith, 95, of Springfield, MO, passed away at 1:40 AM on August 6, 2016, in James River Care and Rehabilitation. She and her twin sister, Irene, were born and raised in Crane, MO. She was married to Kenneth Smith on September 4, 1943. He preceded her in death in 1975. They owned and operated Fenton's Dry Goods store in Crane for many years.

She was a long time member of Crane Presbyterian Church, and served as a ruling elder for many years. She is now a member of Westminster Presbyterian Church in Springfield.

Ilene is preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth Smith, her parents, Fenton and Firl Williams, and her twin sister, Irene Stevenson.

She is survived by her daughters, Sharon Smith, her husband Ron of Monett, MO, Janet Cavener, her husband Tom, of Sparta, MO. Her grandchildren Scott and Brian Smith, of Monett, MO, Angela Hurst of Rogersville, MO, Jennifer Baker of Ozark, MO, and 7 great-grandchildren.

A funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM on Wednesday, August 10, 2016, at Gorman-Scharpf Funeral Home. Visitation will take place before the funeral service from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM. Burial will be held at Crane Community Cemetery. Memorial contributions can be made to Westminster Presbyterian Children's Ministries.
