Margaret Iantha Edwards passed away on Friday, April 29th in her home. Iantha was born in Leachville, AR on April 14, 1935, the daughter of Samuel Bennett Branum and Clyda May Simpkins.
She grew up on a cotton farm in Hornersville, MO. After graduating high school she married Harold Wayne Edwards and spent 30 years traveling the world as an Army wife. Iantha and Wayne made their home in Kennett, MO after his retirement from the Army. They later moved to Springfield, MO to be closer to their family. Iantha enjoyed bridge club, playing in a ukulele band and
starring in many productions at her winter home in Fort Meyers, FL. Iantha was an avid writer of poetry and short stories about her life experiences. Iantha was also an excellent gardener and enjoyed giving her flowers to friends and neighbors. Iantha was a member of the Campbell United Methodist Church and enjoyed singing in the choir. One of her greatest joys was to spend time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She never met a stranger and made friends wherever she went.
Iantha was preceded in death by her husband Wayne, her parents and her seven siblings.
Iantha is survived by her children Beth and Ray Sparks, Pat and Larissa Edwards, John and Lori Edwards, nine grandchildren and fourteen great grandchildren.
Iantha was dearly loved by all.
