Ian Michael Moran, 48, of Springfield passed away on Sunday, December 20, 2015 after a brief struggle with pneumonia complicated by Chronic Lymphocytic Leukemia. He was born on March 19, 1967 in New Orleans to Jon and Sonia Moran. Ian graduated from Greene Valley State School in Springfield in 1988. Ian was born with Angelman Syndrome and overcame many obstacles and challenges in life. He persevered to enjoy life to the fullest. He loved swimming, listening to music, eating ice cream and hanging out with his roommate Tim. He also enjoyed being out in the community making new friends. Ian's mission in life was to bring out the best in people. He touched a lot of lives and was cared for by many wonderful, supportive people. He loved spending time with his sisters, nieces and nephews. He enjoyed the simple pleasures of life. He will be sorely missed and remembered.

Ian is survived by his parents, sisters Mckenna Bellamy (Edward) of St. Louis and Tecia Giusta (Ryan) of San Diego, and nieces and nephews Madison, Blake, Sam, Grace and Rose.

Visitation will be on Sunday, Dec. 27, 2015 from 3-5 PM at Gorman-Scharpf Funeral Home, 1947 E. Seminole. Funeral Mass will be held on Monday, Dec. 28, 2015 at 10 AM at Immaculate Conception Church, 3555 Fremont Ave.
