Hulen Ernest McMullin, 83, passed away on Sunday, January 8, 2017 in Marantha Village following a brief illness. Hulen was born in Ravenden Springs, AR on December 13, 1933 to Hubert and Lucy (Cremeens) McMullin. Hulen was one of seven brothers born to this union. He was reared in Pocahontas, AR. Hulen met the love of his life, Theda Whittington in a movie theatre in Reno, AR. Hulen and Theda were married on August 23, 1952. To this union, five children were born.

Hulen worked for Brown Shoe Company and later he worked as a maintenance mechanic at Hiland Dairy, retiring in the mid 1980's. He and Theda raised their five children in Willard, MO. Hulen enjoyed gardening, hunting, fishing, bird watching and spending time with his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Hulen was preceded in death by his parents, Hubert and Lucy; and his six brothers: Connor, Clifton, Evert, Willard, Ralph and Carl Gene.

Hulen is survived by his loving wife of 64 years, Theda (Whittington) McMullin; his five children: Larry (Maria), Springfield, Diane White (Jerry), Rogersville, Mike, Bob and Ernie, all of Springfield; and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Services will be held Thursday, January 12, 2017 at Gorman-Scharpf Funeral Home at 5:00 p.m. The cremation is under the direction of Gorman-Scharpf.
