Hugh Karl Polk; born Hubert Karl Polk, 83, of Springfield, Mo., passed away on Monday, May 3, 2010 following a short illness. Hugh was born in 1927 in the village of Konigshutte in Brandenburg, Germany to Mr. & Mrs. Maxamilion Polk: a valliant Man, Master Pastry Chef and avid golfer. Hugh treasured spending time with family and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents and his sister, Mrs. Jean Behrmann. Surviving members of Hugh's family include eldest son, Mr. Michael Hugh Polk and Mr. Sergio Tapia, their dogs Roo and Ricky; Mr. & Mrs. Jeffery Scott Polk, their children Sarah and Jessica; Mr.Scott Polk and son Maxx Maples Polk, and niece Ms. Karin Berhmann. Mrs. Loretta Polk and family: Karen Lucas and sons Michael and Andy; Greg and Paula Boone, their children Sarah and Samuel; Janis and Doug Simkins, their children Ryan, Katie, and Josie. Funeral mass will be held on Friday, May 7, 2010 at 11 a.m. in Immaculate Conception Church, 3555 S. Fremont Ave., Springfield, Mo., with Msgr. Thomas Reidy officiating, under the care of Gorman-Scharpf Brentwood Chapel. In lieu of flowers, charitable contributions may be made to The Kitchen.
