Obituary

(Hubert) Wayne Grisham, servant of God, devoted husband, father, grandfather, and friend, graduated to Heaven on Sunday evening, October 28 th .  Wayne was born on July 6, 1925 in Republic, Missouri to Anna & Charles Grisham and was the youngest of 9 siblings, along with his twin brother, who all preceded him in death.  He dedicated his life to Christ in 1933 and re-dedicated his life in 1954, following the birth of his first daughter.  Following his graduation from Springfield Senior High School he entered into the Navy and served his country proudly in World War II.  His life's vocation was spent as a used car dealer and service station operator, but his life's avocation was as a self-taught artist.  His beautiful paintings grace the homes of many family members and friends.  Wayne greatly appreciated God's beautiful creation, especially the colorful fall foliage or a majestic mountain range.  He was an avid sports fan and enjoyed softball, bowling, tennis, and running for many years.

Wayne is survived by his dear wife of 66 years, Shirleen (Creek) Grisham; his daughters and their husbands, Sherry & Geary Randall, and Sheila & Sam Pippin; his grandchildren Ashley & Jordan Silva, Andy Peebles & Courtney Ukena, Alex & Natasha Peebles, and Kelsey Randall; his great-granddaughter, Esther Silva, and many loving nieces and nephews.  He is also survived by he and Shirleeen's dear, devoted neighbors, who helped to care for him, Becky & Jerimiah Conway, and Barry Hairston.

A service of witness to the resurrection and a celebration of Wayne's life will be held on Thursday, November 1 st at 11am at Gorman-Scharpf Funeral Home, 1947 East Seminole, Springfield, Missouri.  Visitation will begin at 10am.  Interment will be in Sinking Creek Cemetery in Everton, Missouri following the service.

Memorial donations may be sent to Hamlin Baptist Church Building Fund (for the new children's wing), 1942 West Farm Road 102, Springfield, MO  65803.
