Howard G. White, 96, was born March 22, 1918 to Ernest and Bessie White in Clarksdale, Illinois. He passed away September 30, 2014. He graduated from Louisville High School in Louisville, IL in 1937. He was a World War II Veteran with the U.S. Navy. After the Navy he worked for 40 years as a wholesale furniture representative in Kansas and Missouri. Howard was a 50-year mason in the Masonic Lodge and a 50-year member of King's Way United Methodist Church. Howard and his wife Frances were married 64 years upon her death. They enjoyed camping at Table Rock Lake and have many memories and friends there. Howard was a very compassionate and giving man. Howard is preceded in death by his parents; his wife; two sisters, Juanita Greene and Aline Henson; brother, Charles White; son-in-law, Doyle Bradley; and brother-in-law, Virgil Doty. He is survived by daughters, Elaine Bradley and Jackie Fogle and husband Ed; sister, Erna Doty; sister-in-law, Mary Ann White; beloved grandchildren, Darrin Swearingen and partner Michael House, Denise Cunningham and husband Kenny and Brennan O'Dell and partner Craig Kaplan; and precious great-grandson, Logan Cunningham. Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m., Monday, October 6, 2014 in Gorman-Scharpf Brentwood Chapel. Burial will follow at Eastlawn Cemetery. Visitation will be Sunday, October 5, 2014 from 2 to 4 p.m. in the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Shriners Hospital for Children, 2001 S.
