Homer Henry Seaton was born November 1, 1931 in Walnut Shade, MO to Grace (Bilyeu) and Ralph Seaton. Homer passed away peacefully at the Missouri Veteran's Home on Friday, February 28th, 2014 after an extended illness. Homer married Pauline Davis on April 1, 1950 and they resided in Walnut Shade until 1953. Two children were born and survive with their spouses, Steve Seaton and his wife Faye of Fordland, MO, and Judy and her husband, John Dollarhite of Nixa, MO. Grandchildren are Christopher Seaton of Springfield, Jeffrey Seaton of Nixa, Jordon Dollarhite and Jason Dollarhite of Nixa. Two great grandchildren, Savannah Seaton, and Scott Seaton. He is also survived by a sister, Lola Brown of Branson, MO, two brothers, Earl Seaton of Reeds Spring, MO, Pete Seaton of Miller, MO. He was preceded in death by his parents, and brothers: Fred, Alfred, Orvil, & Ray Seaton. Homer served his country during the Korean conflict in France from 1954-1956. Upon returning home he and Pauline lived in Ozark, MO until 1957, when they moved to their farm in Sparta, MO. Side by side, they milked cows for many years, and later raised beef cattle and hay. Homer enjoyed fishing, running cattle, and raising a big garden. Homer was saved at a revival meeting in Chadwick, MO at the age of 52. Until his health declined, he attended Prospect Baptist Church in Ozark, MO. Visitation will be held at Gorman-Scharpf Funeral Home on Sunday, March 2, 2014 at 1:00 PM with the funeral service to follow at 2:00 PM. Burial will follow at Eisenhour Cemetery in Spokane, MO with Rev. Ed Lassley to officiating. The family wishes to thank the staff at the Missouri Veteran's Home for their loving, quality care they provided to our beloved husband, father, and grandfather.
