Hildred Adler passed away in her sleep February 18, 2016. She was 10 days shy of turning 102 years young. She was born Hildred Barbara Reichle, March 1, 1914 to Albert and Georgia Richle, in Springfield, Illinois, the oldest of six.

She married the late William Trimble and together they had eight children. Just before Hildred turned age 50, after she was widowed, she went to school and became a registered nurse. She married the late Harry Adler, who had 6 mostly grown children of his own. In 1970, Hildred became the head administrator of the Chariton Manor Nursing Home in Salisbury, MO.

She was preceded in death by four of her siblings; her son, Jim Trimble; her daughter, Mary Vornberg; stepchildren Mary Ann Adler and Fred Adler. She leaves behind a sister, Celeste Massie, children, Martha (Vince) Graham, Barbara Bettlach, Bill (Robyn) Trimble, John (Sheila) Trimble, Charlie (Dee) Trimble and Sally Macchi. She leaves behind stepchildren, Gary (JoAnne) Adler, Jim Adler, Kay (Jay) Boyd, Cindy Adler, and daughter-in-law Libby Adler, as well as a host of cherished friends. Hildred was blessed with 29 grandchildren, 57 great-grandchildren and 43 great-great-grandchildren.

A visitation will be held Sunday, February 21, 2016 from 5:00 to 8:00pm with a rosary at 7:00pm at Gorman-Scharpf Funeral Home, 1947 East Seminole, Springfield, MO. A funeral mass, presided over by Father Mike McDevitt, will be held Monday, February 22, 2016 at 11:00am at St. Agnes Cathedral, 533 S. Jefferson. Her final resting place will be in St. Louis, MO.

In lieu of flowers, Hildred requested donation be made to St. Agnes Elementary School, 531 S. Jefferson, Springfield, MO 65806, or the charity of the donor's choice.

The family would like to thank the staff of Mercy Villa for their excellent care of Hildred for the past three years.
