Hervy D. Dobbs was born in Lawndale, Missouri, on August 16, 1936 to Joseph and Mable (Tillman) Dobbs. Hervy was proud to have served in the United States Air Force, retiring in 1974 as a Master Sargeant. After retiring from the Air Force, he worked at Dayco and as a realtor. He was a member of Abou Ben Adhem Shriners and the Pilot Knob Masonic Lodge. He is survived by his wife of 50 years Donna Dobbs, son Michael Dobbs, daughter Rhonda (Rusty) Housley, and grandsons Cameron & Trevor who were the lights of his life; sisters and brothers-in-law Phyllis & Jim Rigger and Delores & Jim Driscoll; brother and sister by choice Jack & Gladys Burchell; and many nieces, nephews , cousins and extended family. Hervy loved playing slots at the casinos, going to auctions, blue grass festivals, deer hunting and playing cards with friends and family. It was after a fun-filled evening at the casinos, even winning a jackpot, that Hervy fell ill and passed away on November 1, 2011, in Joplin, Missouri. He lived life on his own terms. Graveside services with full military honors will be held at 2pm on Friday, November 4, 2011, at the Missouri Veteran's Cemetery, under the care of Gorman-Scharpf Funeral Home.
