Hershel A. Riddle, 97, Springfield, passed away at 10:55 p.m. Tuesday, August 23, 2016 in Springfield.  A longtime Springfield resident, he retired from Riddle Trucking and began traveling full time.

Mr. Riddle was married to Roberta Hensley for 36 years.  Born to this union one son, Richard, who preceded him in death in 1962; and one daughter, Cheryle (Lee) Kennedy, surviving.  Also surviving is one granddaughter, Christina (Jeremy) Burt; two great-grandchildren, Ethan and Ashlyn Burt; his brother, J.D. Riddle and many nieces and nephews.  He later was married to Jewell Freeman in 1984 and she preceded him in death.  Hershel is survived by two step-sons and many step-grandchildren and step-great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at 4:00 p.m. Saturday, August 27, 2016 in Gorman-Scharpf Brentwood Chapel with the Reverend Joe Fahl officiating.  Burial will be at a later date in Maple Park Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the charity of the donors choice.
