Herbert Dudley Jones, age 83, of Springfield, MO. passed away in his home on Tuesday, November 1, 2011. He was born in Sedalia, MO to Eura D. and Herbert M. Jones on January 8, 1928. He was the Regional Line Manager of the Midwest Region at Southwestern Bell, where he retired in 1984. He was the President of the Park Board for 6 years and was a volunteer at Southwest Missouri Office on Aging. He was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his wife, Lessie M. Jones of Springfield, MO; a son, Herbert A. Jones and wife Ann of Augusta, GA; a daughter, Sonya L. Burnett of Florissant, MO; a sister, Vilma J. Thompson of Springfield, MO; six grandchildren and four great grandchildren. A memorial service will be held at Pitts Chapel United Methodist Church on Saturday, November 5, 2011 at 2:00 p.m., with The Reverend Cherryll Doughty officiating.
