Henrietta Josephine Treece, 103 of Springfield, Mo., passed away Thursday, May 20, 2010. She was born June 23, 1906, in Rector, Arkansas, to T.T. and Mary Lee Copeland. Josephine moved to Springfield and joined South Street Christian Church in 1936, where she was a faithful member.She was united in marriage to Doyle Treece on Oct. 11, 1936. Josephine was preceded in death by her parents; husband; three brothers and three sisters. She is survived by two daughters Retha Treece, Springfield, Mo., and Ellen Roper and husband, Mike, Lafayette, Colo.; a sister Lucille Martin, Sikeston, Mo.; four grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. Graveside services will be held at 1 p.m., Monday, May 24, 2010, in Hazelwood Cemetery under the care of Gorman-Scharpf Funeral Home. No visitation is scheduled, however friends may call after 2 p.m., Sunday, May 23, 2010 in the funeral home. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Shriners Hospitals for Children 2001 S. Lindbergh Blvd., St. Louis, MO 63131.
