Helen Lorine (Sutter) Woosley, 104, of Springfield, Missouri passed away peacefully Sunday, September 10, 2023, in Mercy Hospital, Springfield, Missouri. She was born October 2, 1918, in Springfield, Missouri to Fred Sutter (of Basel, Switzerland) and Millie (Cloud) Sutter. Helen married the love of her life, Emette Woosley, January 5, 1942, in Springfield, Missouri, and remained wed for 31 years, separated by his death, October 6. 1973.
Helen was a wonderful mother, wife, and friend to everyone she met. She was also a longstanding member of National Avenue Christian Church (Disciples of Christ). After retiring from the MFA Milling Company, Helen was an avid traveler, enjoying bus trips with friends from coast to coast and into Canada. In addition, she volunteered at the front desk at Mercy Hospital for many, many years. Helen had an enthusiasm for painting ceramics. She met with a group of like-minded ladies weekly, painting literally hundreds of ceramics; mostly for family, friends and herself. Most of the ceramics were Santa Claus's and Native Americans.

Helen is survived by her sons David and husband AJ of Lawrence, Kansas, and Robert and wife Jonna of Springfield; grandsons Duane Vincent of Springfield, Jonathan and wife Mari of Bolivar, Jeffrey of Springfield, and Dustin of Springfield; granddaughters Teresa (Norris) and husband David of Battlefield, Karen Vincent and partner Don Garner of Ozark, Amanda (Bons) and husband Scott of Warrensburg, Illinois, Stephanie (Loots) of Garnett, Kansas, and husband TJ of Claycomo, Missouri, and Wendy (Featherston) and husband Stuart of Springfield; great-grandchildren Amber, Brian, Brandon, Ashley, Cody, Shelby, Ian, Tilde, Xavier, Ellipses, Eleanor, Eve, Michael and Braden; and great-great-grandchildren, Riley, Avery, Zane, Gage, Luke, and Rossi.
