Helen Elizabeth Selph age 88 of Springfield, Missouri had peacefully left this life at 3:00 p.m. August 28, 2015 at Glendale Gardens. Helen was born August 15, 1927 in Republic, Missouri to Carl H, and Juanita Pauline Bennett. Helen worked in retail most of her life in Downtown Springfield. She worked at Plimmers, Levy Wolf, The Children's Shop and Ed V. Williams. She was also a devoted member to South Street Christian Church. Helen was preceded in death by her husband Gene McCullah Selph, her parents Carl H. and Juanita Pauline Bennett, brothers Donald, Paul and Rex C. Bennett, and nephew Phillip Bennett. Helen is survived by her daughter Susan Ballard (Dan), sons Patrick (Sherri) and Michael Selph, grandchildren Shelli (Will) Bard, Leslie (Chris) Berry, Travis and Austin Selph, great-grandchildren James Mead and Abbey Clary, sister-in-law Imogene Bennett of Springfield and one niece Cynthia (Larry) Scott of LaPorte, Texas and Aunt Hilda Wade. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, September 1, 2015 at Gorman-Scharpf Funeral Home with the burial being held at National Cemetery. The Visitation service will be held from 6:00-7:00 p.m. Monday, August 31, 2015 at Gorman-Scharpf Funeral Home.
