Helen Marie (Cudworth) Mitchell, resident of Four Seasons, Missouri, passed away in her sleep October 2, 2012 at Osage Beach Rehabilitation and Health Care Center in Osage Beach, Missouri at the age of 81. Helen was born in Ava, Missouri on January 23, 1931, the daughter of Homer Edgar and Hazel Marie (Burdett) Cudworth. Helen moved to Springfield, Missouri with her parents where she graduated from Central High School in 1949. Helen attended Southwest Missouri State College and married her husband of fifty-three years; Don R. Mitchell, at First and Calvary Presbyterian Church, on March 20, 1950. Helen was a long time member of King's Daughters. Helen was preceded in death by her parents and husband. Helen is survived by her four children; Alan R. Mitchell of Columbia, Missouri, Russell W. Mitchell of Lake Ozark, Missouri, Julia Mitchell of Rockford, IL and Donald K. Mitchell of Lake Ozark, Missouri; three grandchildren, Alan R. Mitchell II and his wife Beth of Centralia, Missouri, Heather K. (Mitchell) Raeburn and her husband, Matthew of Arlington, Virginia and Dawn M. Mitchell of Columbia, Missouri, as well as two great-grandchildren; Emily and Molly Mitchell of Centralia, Missouri. Visitation will be at 11:00AM Friday, October 5, 2012 with graveside service following at 12:00PM at Hazelwood Cemetery in Springfield, Missouri under the direction of Gorman-Scharpf Funeral Home.
