Helen Virginia Jones 90, of Springfield, MO passed away at 11:30 a.m., Friday, June 12, 2020 in Springfield, MO. Helen is survived by her husband of 72 years Mitchell Jones. Mitchell and Helen moved to Greenville, MS in 1956 before moving to Springfield, MO in 1992.

Helen was born December 20, 1929 in Darling, MS, the daughter of Dewey and Virgie Dickey. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sisters, Bethel Cook and Eunice Spencer, both of Memphis, TN.

She was a member of Second Baptist Church.

Helen is survived by her husband of 72 years, Mitchell Jones, Springfield; brother, Duane (Jean) Dickey, Olive Branch, MS; four children, Craig (Toni) Jones, David (Sherry) Jones, Jane Nixon and Gail (Byron) Weicht; eight grandchildren, Deanna (Tom) Beckenholt, Raymond (Ashley) Coleman, Kate (Chris) Nixon, Sheree (Aaron) Sharp, Chris (Summer) Bryant; William Lundy, Scott (Jessica) Jones and Lauren Jones (Justin) Mateer; fifteen great-grandchildren, Haley, Caden, Carson, Hollis, Harrison, Louise, Keaton, Ellie, Spencer, Savannah, Kai, Abigail, Issac, Clara and Lucy.

Funeral services will be held at 9:30 a.m. Tuesday, June 16, 2020 in Gorman-Scharpf Funeral Home with Chris Bryant officiating.  Private family burial will be held in Missouri Veterans Cemetery.  In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Alzheimer's Association.
