Helen Frances "Fran" Huffhines, 88, passed away peacefully on August 25, 2012. Fran was born August 16, 1924 to Edward and Bessie Lincoln Boyer in Quincy, Illinois and was one of six siblings. Fran worked at Klein's Department Store in Quincy upon her graduation. She worked in the accounting department at Sears and Roebuck where she met her future husband, William Luther Huffhines. Fran also worked for the U.S. Government in Kansas City, Missouri and as an accounts supervisor for 25 years at Consurner's in Springfield, Missouri. Fran and Bill were married in Lee's Summit Missouri on December 2, 1950 and moved to Indianapolis, Indiana. They also lived in Kenosha, Wisconsin; Springfield, Missouri, and ultimately Republic, Missouri. Fran was a compassionate, caring and loving person always putting others first. Her joy for life spread to everyone who came in contact with her. Fran always had a smile on her face and a twinkle in her eye. She will be missed by all. Fran volunteered at several organizations over the years including Messiah Lutheran Church in Springfield where she was a member for over 50 years. She was an amazing wife, mother, grandmother, (Grandma Fran, Grandmuffin, G-Fran), daughter, sister, aunt and friend. Fran was preceded in death by her husband Bill, her parents, and two brothers (Sonny and Donald). She is survived by daughter carol and husband Danny Lockmiller, Republic, MO; two sons, Bruce, Palm Coast, FL. And Mark and wife Leslie, Overland Park, KS; five grandchildren, Christopher, Travis, Erica, Laura, and Emily; two great grandchildren, Kai and Mirabel; and a number of wonderful relative and friends. A memorial service will be held at 2 PM on Friday, August 31, 2012 at the Missouri Veterans Cemetery, 5201 S. Southwood Road, Springfield, Missouri.
