Helen Jean Hudson also known as Suga or Miss Helen was born December 25, 1956 in Littlerock, AR to the late Mary Lee & Otis Lee Hudson. After a long 4 four year battle with cancer, Helen departed this life on January 18, 2014. Helen's family moved from Arkansas to California when she was a child. She grew up in the bay area of Richmond, CA. She received her education in the California state school system. Helen had a long list of accomplishments in her lifetime from being a singer in a well-known band to childcare. She started out in childcare at a very young age taking care of her siblings and it became no surprise that this became her career of choice. Taking care of others was her whole life and she enjoyed every minute of it. Helen leaves behind two sons Corey Holland (Tanisha) and Daniel Hudson (Tara); two daughters; Brandi Roby (Andre) and Caroline Sales (William); two sisters Izie M. Hudson and Marilyn Bolts; two brothers Jimmie Wilson and Jamie Wilson; 16 grandchildren whom she loved with all her heart; and a host of nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, and close friends. Helen was preceded in death by her son Brandon Hudson; her mother Mary Lee Hudson; grandson Keontre Bush; sister Carolyn Williams; and brother David Wilson.
