Helen Koboldt Bock passed away peacefully Sunday, April 22, 2012 at Mercy Villa, at the age of 96, surrounded by her loving family. Helen was born on December 26, 1915 in St. Louis and married Joseph Bock in 1937. They spent 51 years together before his death in 1988. She moved to Springfield in 1994 and was quite active in the lives and activities of her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She is survived by her daughter, Joellen (Wayne) Scheer, Springfield; grandchildren, Diane (Ken) Harris, Powell, Ohio, Brian (Lisa) Bock, Christine (Sean) Lang, all of St. Louis, Kevin Scheer, Linda (Mickey) Moore, Laura (Grant) McCune, all of Springfield; 12 great-grandchildren, Grace, Annie and Will Scheer, Molly and Maggie Moore, Claire, Katie and Anna McCune, Rebecca and Brian Bock, and Katlyn and Tyler Lang. She is also survived by one sister, Anetha Nielsen of Coral Springs, Florida and numerous nieces, nephews and dear friends. She lived a very fulfilling life, was a wonderful Christian example and was always gracious. Visitation will be at Trinity Lutheran Church, where she was a member, on Tuesday, April 24, 2012 at 2 pm, with funeral to follow at 3 pm, under the direction of Gorman-Scharpf Funeral Home. Interment will be Wednesday, April 25, 2012 at 1 pm in Valhalla Cemetery in St. Louis, MO. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Trinity Lutheran Youth Program, 1415 S. Holland Ave., Springfield, MO 65807, in honor of all the children she loved so much. A very special thank you to the Mercy Villa family that cared for Helen with such love and dignity. We are forever grateful.
