IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Heidrun E.
Stringer
September 24, 1944 – November 15, 2020
HEIDRUN "HEIDI" STRINGER (OMI), of Springfield, MO, formerly of Newark, Delaware was born on September 24, 1944. She was one of 6 children born to Erwin and Luise Klemmt of Bohl-Iggelheim Germany. Heidi relocated to the United States in 1969 where she began her new life with her handsome soldier husband, with whom she had one child. Heidi had many passions in life which included being a substitute teacher, doing crafts, ceramics and crocheting and knitting beautiful keepsakes that many friends and family still have to cherish to this day. She loved to dance to country music, being a daycare provider for more than 20 years and enjoyed watching her babies grow up to be adults.
Heidi had a wonderful passion for cooking German foods for her friends and family and treating them to her extremely decadent German cakes and pastries time and time again.
Heidi had an extreme passion for gardening and couldn't wait for spring to come so she could see her flowers start to sprout and become a rainbow of beauty in her yard. Along with all of this, Heidi had a passion for the color RED as it expressed her vibrance for life which was very well noted when she purchased her first brand new Pontiac Firebird which was fire engine red.
While in Missouri, Heidi became an avid bird watcher to which she discovered many new birds that would visit on our bird feeders every day and that brought her great joy and excitement on a daily basis as she would look them up and learn about them. Heidi had the most beautiful green eyes and a smile and laugh that was simply contagious and will be missed dearly.
After suffering a debilitating stroke during a procedure in July she fought very hard to regain her strength back so that she could walk again, but sadly her body wasn't strong enough to get back to that place and she started to decline on a weekly basis. The heavenly angels came and spoke to her on Sunday, November 15th and let her know they wanted her to come dance with them in heaven and no longer feel any pain. She accepted their invitation lovingly and passed away while being held in her daughter's arms knowing that she was loved deeply and will be missed by many in her life.
Heidi was preceded in death by her loving daughter Carmen Bassek and is survived by her daughter Denise Stringer-Layton and her husband James Layton, Granddaughters - Kirsten Marino and Samantha Santos, Great Grandchildren- Vincent, Joe'l, Lyrik, Le'Yahna, Zion, Lakayla, Jay Jay, and Neli, Grandsons- Manuel and Rafael and their children, 3 Brothers- Kurt, Roland, Gunter and their families, 1 Sister- Elisabeth and her family and her lifelong best friend Helga Hagl and her family, along with many other family and friends.
