Hazel Logan Hancock was born January 12, 1916 at home on her parent's farm near Turner's Station, MO and passed away on the farm on October 5, 2014. The doctor came out in his horse and buggy and charged $5 to check out the tiny newborn. Hazel and Kenneth Hancock were married June 29, 1943 and were together until his passing in June 1982. Hazel was preceded in death by her parents, Clara Braun Logan and David Logan; her husband, Kenneth Hancock; and her brother, Benn Logan. She is survived by daughter, Carolyn and husband Allan Dean; grandsons, Kelly and David; and great-grandsons, Logan and Bennett. Hazel always had a sweet smile for everyone. Tentative graveside services will be Wednesday, October 8, 2014 at 1:00 p.m. at Logan Cemetery. Informal visitation will be Tuesday, October 7, 2014 at Gorman-Scharpf Funeral Home after 2:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Springfield Humane Society, 3161 W.
