Harry J. Grier, age 97, passed away Tuesday April 27, 2021 at Lakewood Assisted Living in Springfield, Missouri.  He was born on July 17, 1923 in Strafford, Missouri to Harry E. and Hallie M. Grier.  Harry worked for many years with the City of Springfield in the printing department until his retirement in the mid-1980's.  Later in life, he met and married Ruth A. Deeds.  Harry was also a member of Second Baptist Church in Springfield for many years.

Survivors include two stepdaughters, Janet Garside (David) of England and Rochelle Reno (Darren) of Wheatland, a niece, Nancy Grier of Springfield, a great niece, Tracy Vickers (Vernon) of Springfield, two great nephews, Aaron Grier (Leah) of Ozark and Brian Grier (Barbara) of Joplin, as well as several great great nieces and nephews.  He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, a brother, Harold W. Grier, a sister-in-law, Wanda O. Grier, and two nephews, Rick W. Grier and Thomas E. Grier.

Funeral service will be held Saturday May 1, 2021 at 10:00 a.m. at Gorman-Scharpf Funeral Home in Springfield with visitation preceding from 9:30 a.m. to 10:00 a.m.
