Life of Harry Foster Harry Foster, age 79, of Springfield, MO, passed from this life and was welcomed by his Heavenly Father on September 23, 2012, after a 2 year battle with Parkinson's and Alzheimer's disease. He was born on February 4, 1933, in Jonesboro, Ill, to Harry C. and Bessie Foster. Preceding him in death were his parents and 3 siblings. He is survived by his loving wife Helen Foster of nearly 50 years, one sister Elaine and 4 children: Vicki (John) Parkhurst, James (Stephanie) Biggs, Nancy (Marvin) Ward, Valerie (Tony) Freeman; 9 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren and a host of friends. He served in the United States Air Force as an Airman and photographer. After leaving the service, he resided in Denver, CO, where he met and married Helen Biggs on February 14, 1963. They later settled in Springfield, MO, where he spent most of his career in sales. In 1982, they followed their love of the water and boating and moved to Ft. Lauderdale, FL, where they resided for 13 years before returning to the Springfield area. On his return to Springfield, he resumed his career in sales at Sears, and with Bass Pro Shops for 10 years prior to his retirement. Memorial services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, September 26, 2012, at Gorman-Scharpf Brentwood Chapel. Interment will be in Hazelwood Cemetery, Springfield, MO. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Foundation or Hospice Compassus.
