Obituary

Harry E. Campbell, age 92, of Springfield, passed away May 22, 2013. He was born June 5, 1920 in Brookline, MO., to Homer and Ethel Campbell. He was married to Kathryn (Katy) Reynolds on September 14, 1946. They were happily married for sixty seven years, and blessed with four children (three daughters and a son). Harry worked for MFA and Mid-America Dairy for forty three years, retiring in 1982. He served in the Army during World War 2. He was an active member of First Baptist Church. He was an avid fan of MSU Basketball Bears, and enjoyed gardening, reading, and spending time with family. He was preceded in death by his parents, a sister, June Buffington, and grandson, Andy Scott. He is survived by his wife; three daughters, Sharon Campbell, Zachary, LA., Carol Hopkins and her husband Brent, Republic, MO., Debby Scott and her husband Dave, Springfield; and one son, Gary Campbell and his wife Janice, Norman, OK. Also surviving are six grandchildren, Suzanne Martin (Joe), Jennifer Manegold (Willice), Katy Lee (Tony), Gregory Sloan, Jill and Lexie Campbell; five great-grandchildren; and one sister, Wilma Smith, Springfield and many nieces and nephews. Visitation will be Friday, May 24th from 6-8:00 p.m. in Gorman-Scharpf Funeral Home. Funeral service will be on Saturday, May 25th at 10:00 a.m. in the funeral home. Burial will be Tuesday, May 28th in Missouri Veterans Cemetery at 10:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to First Baptist Church, 525 South Avenue, Springfield, MO 65806
