Harold David Richardson, US Air Force Retired
Master Sergeant Harold David Richardson (Ret. USAF), age 95, passed away on June 14, 2026, at Cox Medical Center in Springfield, MO. Harold was born on January 26, 1931, in Mount Vernon, MO, to Jeremiah and Gertrude (Jones) Richardson.
At the age of 17, Harold enlisted in the United States Air Force and served his country with great distinction for two decades, traveling the world, while receiving numerous accolades and raising his family. He earned his college degree from the University of Nebraska and later spent many years as the manager for 14 states with AMF until his retirement.
Harold was an esteemed longtime member of the Masons, a member of the Baptist Church, and a treasured figure at the Veterans Home in Mount Vernon, MO where he spent his last years entertaining all who surrounded him.
Harold was predeceased by his beloved wife, Virginia, in 2016. He is survived by his loving children: Wayne A. Richardson of Moreno Valley, CA, Debra L. Anderson of Fairfax, VA, and Paul R. (Sherri) Richardson of O’Fallon, MO; stepson Roger L.Wallace of Wichita, KS; six grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; his sister-in-law Yvonne Qualls; and his former wife, Joan Fries.
A graveside service with full military honors will be held at Rock Prairie Cemetery in Halltown, MO at 11:00am on June 19, 2026. Interment will follow. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to The Alzheimer’s Association.
