Harold "Hal" Hamilton Pignon, 87, of Springfield, passed away peacefully on November 6, 2010. Hal was born in Los Angeles, California, September 15, 1923, the son of the late Harold and Florence Pignon. He was united in marriage on October 9, 1948, to his sweetheart Patricia. Hal and Patt had one child Russell Pignon who is married to Susan, also of Springfield. He has one granddaughter, Heidi who is married to Jeff Carroll of Shawnee, Kansas. Hal was a member of Holy Trinity Catholic Church, where he was a member of the Men's Club. Harold was a brick-mason for over 40 years. His legacy can be seen in the many brick buildings from the Muehlebach Hotel in Kansas City to the campus at USC in Los Angeles. Before Hal met Patt he served his country as a member of the U.S. Navy during World War II. Hal enjoyed fishing, whether it be Bennett Springs or the High Sierras, he enjoyed the many cruises around the world with Patt and he would never turn down a game of cards. Visitation will be held from 5 to 7 p.m, Tuesday, November 9th, in Gorman-Scharpf Funeral Home, Springfield. Funeral mass will be held in Holy Trinity Catholic Church, Springfield, Wednesday, November 10th, at 12:30 p.m., with graveside service to follow in Missouri Veterans Cemetery, Springfield.
