Obituary

Harley Raymond Williams, 70, Springfield, passed away at 3:27 p.m. Tuesday, July 13, 2010 in St. John's Hospital. He was born July 7, 1940 in Tulsa, Oklahoma, the son of Joseph Ezra and Irene Wilma Foreman Williams. Ray attended Avant High School in Avant, Oklahoma and lived in Tulsa until moving to Sarcoxie, Missouri in 1971. He later moved to Cabool in 1981 and retired to Springfield six years ago. Ray was a plant manager of Wilbert Vault Company in Sarcoxie, Cabool and Ash Flat, Arkansas, retiring in 1991. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Connie; a brother, Don Williams; and an infant brother, Joseph Williams. Ray is survived by two sons, Harley and Erin Williams; and Nathan Williams; three daughters, Diane Bird and Leon Loman; Vickie and Ivan Patton; and Laura and Tad Lawson; a brother, Steve and Debbie Williams; a sister, Staschia Williams; seven grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. The family would like to extend a special heartfelt thanks to Dr. Stanley Wiggins. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, July 17, 2010 in Gorman-Scharpf Brentwood Chapel with Pastor Gary Mitchener officiating. Burial will follow at Clear Creek Cemetery with Pastor Billy Graff officiating. Visitation will be held from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Friday in the funeral home.
