Hal Joseph Brown, 84, passed away May 18, 2012 at his home in Nixa, Mo. He was born on Nov. 18th, 1927 to Joe and Edna Brown of Springfield. Hal graduated from Greenwood Laboratory School in 1947 and attended SMSU, before serving in the Korean War in the Army Signal Group. Hal married the love of his life, Barbara (Cates) Brown on November 6, 1970 at First Cumberland Presbyterian Church. He is survived by his wife of 41 years, Barbara; a son, Richard of Springfield; daughter, Lisa Mobley, her husband Lucas and their son Jaxson of San Antonio, TX; daughter, Carol Terhune of Richmond, VA, and a sister, Ida Kathleen Cox of Springfield. All family and friends are welcome to attend visitation at Gorman-Scharpf Brentwood Chapel on Wednesday, May 23rd from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Graveside services will be held at Selmore Cemetery on Thursday, May 24th at 11 a.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be to Hospice Compassus or the charity of their choice.
