Gregory Joe Brock of Springfield, Missouri was born on March 2, 1966 to Billy Joe Brock and Wilda Jean Hilton Brock. He was preceded in death by his mother, Wilda. His father and aunt, Wilma Hilton, and his guardian angel Amy Page survive him.

Greg's father is a deacon at Second Baptist Church in Springfield where Greg attended growing up. For many years he also attended Cherry Street Baptist Church.

Greg was a graduate of Glendale High School and attended Missouri State University. He had a long career in radio news and never lost his love for news and the news business. He was a lover of all things history and had a special passion for studying German history leading up to and through World War II.

Greg was also very involved in the Springfield theater community and was in a number of productions over the years. This passion was connected to a love for movies, television, and the process of making them. He was a collector of information and trivia about Hollywood, actors, movies, and tv. One of his life long passions was watching Star Trek and enjoying the many friends he made and experiences he had because of the show.

Greg was also an animal lover and did everything he could to help animals, especially strays. He loved any animal, especially dogs and cats. Greg had many stories and photos of his cats, Possum and Angel, which were an endless source of entertainment for him.

Funeral services are Tuesday, December 24, 2019 at 2:00 pm, in Gorman-Scharpf Funeral Home. A visitation will precede the service at 1:00 pm.

Donations to the American Heart Association, Springfield Young Actors Theatre Program and summer camp through Springfield Little Theatre, or any charity of your choice in memory of Greg would be appreciated.
