Grace McCullough Simone went to be with her Lord and her loving family on May 15, 2011. Born April 3, 1914 in New York City, Grace was the tenth child to be born to her parents, Charles F. and Helen A. McCullough. She had ten brothers and one sister. The blessings Grace received growing up in her family served her all her life and she delighted in passing them on to others. Her first job while still attending high school, was as a runner at the Peter Stuyvesant Skin and Cancer Hospital in Manhattan. After high school, Grace was employed by General Motors at their New York headquarters as a Personnell and Payroll Specialist. She was employed there for 34 years. In October of 1968, Grace married her longtime friend Antonio J. Simone. After living in Hastings-on-Hudson, New York for 3 years, Grace and Tony moved to Springfield, MO in 1971. Grace was a devoted member of the Saint Agnes Parrish in Springfield. Grace was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Tony, her sister Helen, her brothers; Charles, Richard, John, William (who died in early childhood), Irwin, Edwin, Curtis, Raymond, Joe and Robert. She is survived by three sisters in law; Kay McCullough of Venice, FLA., Victoria Cook of Springfield, and Flora Walsh ,also of Springfield, and numerous nieces and nephews and many dear friends. She is also survived by a loving and caring staff and family at SpringRidge Assisted Living Facility. Visitation will be Thursday evening at Gorman-Scharpf Funeral Home from 7 - 8:00 p.m. Funeral Mass will be at St. Agnes Cathedral at 11 a.m. on Friday, May 20, 2011 with Father Michael V. McDevitt, celebrant. Interment will be at Maple Park Cemetery. Remembrances may be made to St. Agnes School Tuition Assistance Program for St. Agnes Students, 533 S.
