Glenn Wheeler, 86, Springfield, Mo., passed away Monday, October 19, 2009, in his home. He was born October 20, 1922, in Greene County Mo., to James "Bob" and Pearl Wheeler. Glenn was a World War II veteran, serving in the Pacific. He was a member of the IBEW local 453 and Macedonia Baptist Church. Glenn was preceded in death by his parents; wife Laverne Wheeler; a son, Robert Wheeler; four brothers, Bonnie, Allan, William and Carl; and two sisters, Lois and Mae. He is survived by three sons, Stephen Wheeler and wife, Glenda, Bonnie Wheeler and wife, Shirley, and Ned Wheeler; a sister, Muriel Peele, all of Springfield, Mo.; three sisters-in-law, Ruby Atteberry, Oneita Sweet and Liz Sweet; nine grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren. Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, October 24, 2009, in Selmore Cemetery, Ozark, Mo. Visitation will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, October 23, 2009, in Gorman-Scharpf Brentwood Chapel, 1947 E. Seminole, Springfield, Mo.
