Glenn Robert Beatty, 61, was born February 9, 1952 and died April 7, 2013. He served in the U. S. Air Force for ten years. Glenn lived in Florida most of his adult life because he loved the weather. He enjoyed planting, golfing, fishing and flea marketing. He was nicknamed "the mayor" by an uncle and never met a stranger. He was preceded in death by his parents, Edward and Ann Beatty. Glenn is survived by his children, Wendy Beatty, Alexis (Beatty) Bailey and Daniel Beatty all of Florida; siblings, Edward and Joyce Beatty, Sam and Laurice Beatty, Stacey and Mark Owens, Alicia and Steve Ricketts all of Missouri; Doug and Debbie Beatty of Maryland, and Pete and Cheri Beatty of California; as well as a large extended family. Visitation will be Friday, May 10, 2013 from 6:00 to 8:00 pm in Gorman-Scharpf Brentwood Chapel. Interment will be in Jacksonville Veteran's Cemetery on Monday, May 13, 2013 at 2:30 pm. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The Kitchen, 1630 N. Jefferson, Springfield, Missouri 65803 or a veteran's organization of donor's choice.
