Glenda Jo (Calton) Turner went to sleep Friday evening, January 18, 2013 and woke up in heaven on Saturday morning, January 19, 2013. Glenda was born on February 21, 1940, in Conway, Missouri, the daughter of Glenn and Bernice Calton who preceded her in death. She is survived by her husband of fifty-three years, Jim Turner and four daughters Dee Ann Jost of Chesterfield, Missouri, Leah Sue Turner of Springfield, Mary Lynne Turner of Springfield, Amy Jo Witcher and her husband Lance of Sunset Hills, Missouri; Six Grandchildren; Jake, Erik and Will Jost; Rob, Nick and Kate Witcher; one brother Don Calton and his wife Barbara; numerous nieces and nephews, cousins, two aunts and friends who loved her dearly. Glenda graduated from Conway High School and attended Southwest Missouri State College. Glenda was proud of her rural upbringing often telling people how she milked cows and worked in the fields. After her children were raised, she worked as a Residential Loan Officer for several Banks and Mortgage Companies, retiring from U.S. Bank due to a hearing disability. Glenda was a talented musician until her hearing deficit stopped the music. She can now enjoy music again. Funeral Service will be at 1:00pm Thursday, January 24, 2013 at Happy Home Cumberland Presbyterian Church in Conway, Missouri. Burial will follow in Graceland Cemetery. Visitation will be held Wednesday from 5:00pm to 7:00pm in Gorman-Scharpf Brentwood Chapel, Springfield, Missouri. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital or the charity of your choice.
