Obituary

Glenda Delayne Inman (Craig) passed away peacefully on Saturday, November 12, 2022, surrounded by the love of her children, grandchildren, and her dog Lizzy. Glenda was born in Springfield, MO November 9, 1941. A graduate of Parkview High School, where she met the love of her life of 58 years, Jay Newton Inman. They were married on February 24, 1961, in Springfield, MO, where they began their life together.

Glenda was an extraordinarily active and outgoing woman who volunteered and advocated for numerous social and public charitable organizations. She most enjoyed causes that supported her children and personally, including PTA President, Springfield PBS Auction Chair, and serving on the Springfield GYNCA Alliance Board. Glenda most cherished her role as "Mom" to her three children, Andy, Amy, and Jason, and later as Grandma to her six grandchildren. She was blessed to travel across the globe with her husband Jay and always looked forward to her playtime spent with family and grandkids at their lake house on the waters of Table Rock lake.

Glenda loved life, loved her family, and loved her friends. She spent her days nourishing her many flowers in the garden, trying new recipes, doing art projects, playing tennis, and participating in numerous social activities. Every Thursday, you could find her playing Mahjong with her "Mahj" girls. She could stop a room with her smile, and her witty sense of humor always delivered laughter- often when needed the most.  Her strength was unwavering. She was our hero.

Glenda is survived by her three children, Jay Andrew (Theresa) Inman (Springfield), Amy (John) Felton (Leawood, Kansas), and Jason Inman (Springfield). Six Grandchildren, Andrew, Josh, Derek Inman, Jonathan Felton, Lauren, and Kaleb Inman, and three great-grandchildren, Nathan, Brady, and Ryleigh Inman. She is preceded in death by her husband, Jay N. Inman, parents John E Craig and Thelma (Hesterlee) Craig, brother John E. Craig, and great-grandson Ian Thomas Inman. Glenda provided an unwavering inspiration to many with her tenacity and unending determination as she gracefully and valiantly lived with ovarian cancer for the last 12 years.

In place of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in her honor to the Springfield Area GYNCA GYN Cancer Alliance www.gynca.org to support women and their families diagnosed with gynecological cancers.

Memorial services and reception will be held at National Avenue Christian Church in Springfield, Missouri, on Thursday, November 17, 2022, gathering at 11:30 am with services at noon, under the care of Gorman-Scharpf Funeral Home.
