Dr. Glen M. McCray passed away on April 7, 2015. He was born May 24, 1920 in Neodesha, KS. He was a veteran of WWII, serving as an Army medic in New Guinea. Glen married Maurine Mong in 1945. A graduate of KU Medical School, Glen was in family practice in Neodesha before returning to school to specialize in child psychiatry. He served as the department head at Children's Mercy Hospital in Kansas City, MO for many years. Glen and Maurine retired to Springfield, MO in 1984 where he was Director of St. John's Marion Center until 1987. He lived a full life, being of service to others. He loved gardening and was an accomplished pianist who relaxed by playing jazz to the delight of all who heard him. He is survived by his three children, five grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife in 2009. Privates services will be held under the care of Gorman-Scharpf Funeral Home.
