Gladys E. White passed away Monday, September 19, 2011 at Christian Health Care West at the age of 99. She was born Feb. 10, 1912. She was a long time member of the Hardin Class at First and Calvary Presbyterian Church, Springfield. She was preceded in death by her parents Minnie May (Heinzman) and Alpha Curtis Alexander; sisters, Pearl Cook, Christine Wheeler, Anna Lee Rose; and four brothers. She was married to Frank L. White, who preceded her in death in 1979. She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Sharon and Robert (Bob) Gentry; grandson, Robert (Rob) Gentry Jr., all of Springfield; and three great-grandchildren, Airman Robert (Robby) Gentry III, San Antonio, TX, Dein and Avery Gentry, Springfield. The family would like to give special thanks to Christian Health Care West, Cedarwood for the excellent care given to her for her last years. Graveside services will be held at 3 p.m., Thursday, September 22, 2011 at Greenlawn Memorial Gardens, under the care of Gorman-Scharpf Funeral Home. No visitation is planned.
