Gladys Wickizer Moon departed this life September 25, 2010, at The Maples Health and Rehabilitation Center, Springfield. She was born November 26, 1911, and was the daughter of Earl and Lilly Wickizer of Springfield. She was preceded in death by her husband of 65 years, attorney William A. Moon; her sister Vena LeDuc of Springfield; her three brothers, Melvin, Herbert and Wilbur; and her grandson Christopher Calvin. She is survived by her son, Dr. William A. Moon, Jr. and his wife Jenny, of Denver; her daughter Clara Moon Busch of Republic; and her son The Rev. James F. Moon and his wife Cheryl, of South Greenfield, MO; 13 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren. She attended Greenwood Highschool and Missouri State Teachers College (now MSU). She was a long time active member of St. John's Episcopal Church, and a member of the Antique Arts Group. She will be remembered by her family and friends as an extraordinarily warm, loving and gracious mother, wife, grandmother, great grandmother and friend. The family suggests that in lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to St. John's Memorial Fund. The service will be Thursday, the 30th, at 11:00 a.m. at St. John's Episcopal Church, Springfield. The Rev. Jerry Miller will officiate. A lunch will be held immediately afterwards in the Parish Hall for all friends and family. Graveside committal will be at Maple Park Cemetery following the luncheon.
