Obituary

Gerard Tate Hennessy, 97, of Springfield, passed away September 30, 2024.

He was born October 24, 1926 in Springfield to John and Daisy (Tate) Hennessy. Gerard, along with his 2 brothers, were all World War II veterans and all were involved in battle, making it home without a scratch. He was a long-time member of the Pat Jones YMCA.

Gerard was involved with the Full Gospel Businessmen's Association, where he was known as "Cowboy." They build a chapel in Mexico and went on trips to Eastern Europe spreading the Gospel.

He is survived by his son, Patrick and many other cousins, family and friends.

Graveside Service with Full Military Honors will be held at 1:00 PM on Wednesday, October 9, 2024 at Springfield National Cemetery.
