IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Geraldine "Bunny"
Mae Mueller
April 10, 1944 – May 21, 2025
Geraldine (Bunny) Mueller, 81, of Forsyth, Missouri, passed away on May 21, 2025, in Springfield, Missouri, following a long battle with Parkinson's disease.
Bunny was born on April 10, 1944, in Boscobel, Wisconsin, to Ora and Harriett Oswald. She grew up on the family farm in Crawford County, Wisconsin and graduated from Wauzeka High School, where she played the saxophone and was a majorette in the band.
After high school, she attended and graduated from Wisconsin State University-River Falls with a degree in geography. While working toward a master's degree in geography at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee, Bunny met Gerald (Jerry) Mueller whom she married in August 1967 at St. Peters Lutheran Church in Prairie du Chien, Wisconsin. Together they had two sons, Wade and Wayland.
Jerry and Bunny lived in several states including Arizona, Maryland, Texas, and Wyoming before settling in Las Cruces, New Mexico, where they lived for 34 years before moving to Forsyth in 2010. Additionally, Jerry and Bunny spent the year 1983 living in and traveling across Australia. They also spent the 1993-1994 academic year living at the U.S. Military Academy at West Point, New York. Throughout her life, Bunny was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother and took great pride in caring for her family, friends, and others in her community. While living in Las Cruces, Bunny was an active volunteer at Peace Lutheran Church and El Caldito Soup Kitchen. She also devoted many hours as a band parent helping the Las Cruces High School band and was honored with a school letter for her exceptional support. She also spent several years volunteering and supporting her sons in cub scouts and boy scouts. In Forsyth, she volunteered her time at the Forsyth Library which allowed her to share her love of reading with others. Bunny was an avid reader of all genres, but she especially enjoyed Agatha Christie mysteries. She even read Tolstoy and Dostoevsky novels just for fun—and enjoyed it!
Bunny will be remembered for her unwavering support of her family and her devotion to them. She loved spending time with her children and grandchildren and spoiling them with her chocolate chip cookies and caramel popcorn. Bunny could often be found working on crossword puzzles and many other brain games at which she excelled. Her quiet demeanor and fierce love will be missed by all who knew her.
Bunny is survived by her husband, Gerald Mueller of Forsyth, Missouri; sons Wade Mueller (Shelley), of Papillion, Nebraska, and Wayland Mueller (Jennifer), of Springfield, Missouri; and three grandchildren, Devin Mueller (Lindsey), of Petoskey, Michigan; Mason Mueller (Zuza), U.S. Army currently stationed in Poznan, Poland; and Paige Mueller of Springfield. She is also survived by many nephews, nieces, cousins, and other family that she also dearly loved.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Ora Oswald, three sisters, and one brother.
