Obituary

Gerald Larkin Gresham of Springfield, Missouri, passed away on March 26, 2024, at the age of 92. He was born the son of Noah Larkin Gresham and Alma Garnet in Kansas City, Missouri on March 29, 1931.

Jerry grew up in Parkville, Missouri with his siblings Jacquelyn Ann and Linda Eileen. He graduated from Parkville High School and attended Park College, now Park University in Parkville, Missouri.

From an early age, he was an active community member. By the age of 16, Jerry earned the rank of Eagle Scout. He was a member of the Tribe of Mic-O-Say, an Honor Society of the Boy Scouts of America, the Heart of America Council at the H. Roe Bartle Scout Reservation in Osceola, MO.

Later in his life, he would go on to join many community dancing clubs. He enjoyed square dancing and ballroom dancing the most, and he would eagerly show off his abilities at family gatherings. He loved to travel to the Western states and cruise the Ozarks in his cherished van. Branson held a special place in his heart, where he lived after retirement. He especially loved going to Branson Landing and attending, shows on the strip.

He proudly served his country in the United States Army at Fort Campbell Kentucky 407th Engineer Combat Battalion during the Korean War. After his military service, Jerry began a career in heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC). He went on to establish Gresham Heating & Air, a company he owned and operated for over 30 years until his retirement at the age of 86.

Jerry was married to Donna Jean Gresham in 1951 until her death in 1975. He is survived by their children: Kristie Fischer (Andy); Debi Ringenberg; Kari Wolfe (David); Gerald Larkin Gresham II (Beverly); Robin McEnany (John).

Jerry is survived by his sister Linda Hanick (Vic), grandchildren: Zach Fischer (Kristal), Adam Fischer; Josh Ringenberg (Jessica); Nick Ringeberg (Lacy); Dan Wolfe; Alyssa Wolfe (Fiancé Caleb); Lacey Brewer (Casey); Casey Gresham (Fiancé Jason); Jeremy Gresham; Eli Gresham; Joel Calaway; Ian Calaway; Savannah Calaway; along with 16 great-grandchildren, and 2 nieces, Leanne Pendergraft (Doyle) and Blake Hanick.

Jerry is preceded in death by Donna Jean Gresham, Barbara Faye Gresham, his second wife; granddaughter, Leah Renea Gresham; Mother, Alma Garnet Gresham; Father, Noah Larkin Gresham; and his sister, Jacquelyn Ann Schlaf.

Visitation will be at Gorman-Scharpf Funeral Home on Saturday, March 30, 2024, at 1pm with service at 2pm. Burial will be at Greenlawn Memorial Gardens Cemetery following the service. Memorials made be made to Tunnels 2 Towers Foundation at T2T.org.
