IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Gerald
Dickinson
August 19, 1935 – September 17, 2025
Gerald "Jerry" Hill Dickinson, 90, of Springfield, Missouri passed away Wednesday, September 17, 2025 following a brief illness. Born to Ferdinand and Mae Dickinson on August 19, 1935, Gerald was born and raised in Minot, North Dakota and the youngest of five children. Due to his father's untimely death, Gerald quit school at a young age to help his mother at the family home.
As a young man, he was drafted into the United States Army and was stationed overseas in Germany. Following his years of service, Gerald returned to St. Louis, Missouri and married the love of his life, Dolores June Krauck. Married for 53 years, the loving couple raised two sons, Dennis and Daniel.
Jerry was an entrepreneur at heart. He began his young career as a successful, highly pursued hairdresser in St. Louis, Missouri. The couple moved to Poplar Bluff, Missouri where they owned and managed a motel before eventually returning to Minot, North Dakota to be close to his aging mother. While living in Minot, Gerald worked at the Air Force base school system and finally moved his family to Springfield, Missouri where he retired from Cox North Hospital Engineering Department.
Gerald was preceded in death by his parents, sister Doris, brothers, Bob, Don and Ray and his loving wife, Dolores. He is survived by his sons Dennis (Heidi) and Daniel (Carie), all of Springfield, 2 granddaughters, 6 great grandchildren and 5 great-great grandchildren.
With a genuine wit and sense of humor, Jerry could tell stories like no other. His hobbies included rebuilding and restoring old cars. His greatest passion, however, was riding his motorcycles thousands of miles throughout the country. A wonderful husband, father and grandfather. He will be deeply missed.
