Georgia H. Gunn, age 85, formerly of Springfield, MO died March 10, 2014 at Good Shepherd Care Center in Versailles, MO. She was born July 23, 1928 in Springfield to R.Z. and Lillie Gregg Van Horn. On May 21, 1950, in Springfield, she was married to William M. Gunn, who preceded her in death in Nov. 1991. She was also preceded in death by parents, a brother, Bertram and wife, Frances Van Horn. She was a long-time employee of the Evangel University Post Office and a 60+ year member of First & Calvary Presbyterian Church where, during previous years, she had been a member of the chancel choir, the Harding Sunday School Class, and the Quilters Group. She had also served as an elder, usher and a church office volunteer. She is survived by one sister and husband, Nancy and Donald Upton of Eldon, MO; several nephews, nieces, cousins and many friends. A graveside service will be held Friday, March 14, 2014 at 10:30 a.m. at White Chapel Cemetery in Springfield, under the direction of Gorman-Scharpf Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to First & Calvary Presbyterian Church, The Gunn Music Scholarship Fund at Evangel University, or Hospice Compassus, Osage Beach, MO.
