George Earl Young Jr. age 54 of Springfield, MO passed away at 9:53pm Monday September 29th, 2014 in a tragic work accident. George was a father of two. He enjoyed playing basketball and leftfield in softball in his free time. He had a vast collection of DVDs, CDs and his favorite of all, his records. He was also known for his amazing cooking and grilling. George was preceded in death by his father George Earl Young Sr. He was survived by daughter, Nicole Rachel Elizabeth Dalene; son, George Earl Young III both of Springfield, MO; two grandchildren, Daelin Young and Grayci Young of Springfield, MO; siblings, Gertrude Young and Loretta Young Goss of Little Rock, AR; Gregory Young and Joetta Young of Benton Harbor, MI; Gail Young Thomas of Georgia; and Joyce Glasper of Denver, CO; and mother Joyce Wallace of Denver, CO. Visitation will be held at Gorman-Scharpf Funeral Home Friday, October 17, 2014 from 12 to 1 PM. All are welcome to join the family at the graveside service, with the Reverend Lamarr P. Jamerson Sr. officiating, immediately following the visitation at 1pm at Eastlawn Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the Gorman-Scharpf Funeral Home to help the family cover final funeral costs.
