George Reed Nixon, passed away Wednesday, January 9, 2019 in his home in Springfield at the age of 58.

He was born December 31, 1960 to George and Winifred Nixon.

George graduated from Strafford High School in 1979 and was a farmer all his life. His livestock, pets and especially his family meant the world to him.

Survivors include his mother of the family home; sister Melinda Ray (David) of West Plains, MO; two nephews; one niece; one great-nephew and good friend Sarah Malkmus.

His father predeceased him.

A memorial service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, January 11 in Gorman-Scharpf Brentwood Chapel. A private family burial will be in Greenlawn Cemetery.
