George William Michels 78, Springfield, Missouri passed away Wednesday, September 8, 2010. He was born September 1, 1932 in Springfield, Missouri to Louis and Marie Michels. George retired from City Utilities after thirty eight years of service. He was a faithful member of Broadway United Methodist Church. George was preceded in death by his parents, a brother Jack Michels. He is survived by his wife Jean Michels; son, Biff Williams; two daughters, Robin Michels, and Mitzi Plaster, and husband, Dwayne; two grandsons, Aaron Michels, and David Jacob Secker; a brother, Louis Michels; a sister, Jeanne Batey; and a special niece Debbie Hoagland, and husband, Dwain. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM Friday, September 10, 2010, in Gorman-Scharpf Brentwood Chapel. Burial will follow in Missouri Veterans Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 6:00 to 8:00 PM Thursday, September 9, 2010 in the funeral home.
