Eddie McDaniel was taken to his final reward on September 10, 2019. He was born in Seligman, MO on Dec. 9, 1944 to Francis Wayne McDaniel and Juanita Ragsdale McDaniel. He was married to Judith Doss on October 22, 1965 in Joplin, MO and she survives.
He graduated in 1962 from high school in Exeter, MO. He grew up attending Cassville Christian Church and then attended church services for over fifty years at Glendale Christian Church in Springfield, MO. He served several terms on the board there and also was a youth teacher and sponsor for many years, both for grade school and high school and drove the youth choir to performances. He did volunteer work for several entities, including the Boy Scouts of America and coached girls and boys baseball and girls basketball. After retirement, he spent many hours with good friends while they maintained the tractors for Glendale Christian. He also enjoyed driving the church vans to pick up people needing transportation to church activities.
He leaves behind many dear family members and friends. Among those, a daughter, Jodie Lynn Clinkenbeard and her husband Mark and grandchildren Shea McDaniel and Parker Matteo; a son, Michael Shannon McDaniel and his wife Ashley, daughter Lily Paige, and Makayla and Payton Schlicht. Also surviving, is his sister Lola Larsen-Shaw and her husband John of Springfield, MO. He had a special fondness for his many nieces and nephews and his brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law.
Preceding him in death beside his parents, were his in-laws, Kenneth and Freda Doss, and an older brother Harold Wayne McDaniel. A precious grandson, Logan Baxter Clinkenbeard, also died in 2007.
Services will be Tuesday, September 17 at 2:30 p.m. at Glendale Christian Church with visitation at 1:00 p.m., also at the church. Gorman-Scharpf Funeral Home of Springfield, MO will be handling the arrangements.
