George H. Carr, age 91, passed away on November 28, 2015, in Springfield, MO, after a brief illness.  He was born in Fort Worth, TX and lived in Springfield for over 35 years.  He was a WWII U.S. Marine veteran and a member of East Grand Church of Christ. He is survived by his wife, Wilma, of the home; 3 step children, Dennis Matney of Buffalo, MO, Randall Matney of St Louis, MO and Bruce Matney of Hollister, MO; four grandchildren, Nicole Kisling, Aric Matney, Matthew Matney and Molly Matney; and one great grandson, Derek Kisling, of Springfield, MO. He was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters and three brothers. Graveside services will be at 2:00pm, Tuesday, December 1, 2015 in Jamesville Cemetery, south of Nixa.  Visitation will be from 7:30pm-8:30pm, Monday, November 30, 2015 in Gorman-Scharpf Funeral Home.
