George D. Boyd, 91, Springfield, passed away on Tuesday, October 18, 2016. He was born July 15, 1925 in Conway, MO, the son of Edgar E. and Maud A. Boyd.

George owned and operated several successful small businesses, was a salesman and eventually had a long career with the Department of Revenue until his retirement. He later enjoyed many years selling at Riverview Antiques in Ozark.

He was a member of King's Way United Methodist Church and a member of the Masonic Lodge #528 in Conway until transferring his membership to Springfield.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Vaun L. Boyd; four brothers; and three sisters,

George is survived by his three daughters, Carmen Boyd, Springfield; Jennifer Altic and husband, Dan, Willard; and Sigrid Buchanan and her husband, Wiley, Springfield; six grandchildren, Leslie Jones, Lee Waters, Hunter Altic, Britney Buchanan, Veronica Buchanan and Weston Buchanan; and five great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, October 21, 2016 in King's Way United Methodist Church under the care of Gorman-Scharpf Brentwood Chapel. Visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. until service time Friday in the church. Burial will follow the service in Graceland Cemetery, Conway, MO. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, P.O. Box 1000, Dept. 142, Memphis, TN 38148.
