George Fleetwood Bartee passed away July 2, 2026, in Springfield, Missouri. He was born January 23, 1967, in Shawnee, Oklahoma, to Alice and Wayne Bartee, both of whom preceded him in death.

He attended Greenwood Laboratory School from kindergarten through high school, graduating from there in 1985. While there he was a member of the golf team and an honor roll student. He graduated from Baylor Baptist University in 1990 with a bachelor’s degree in business and returned home after college to pursue a career in the trucking industry in risk management.

He remained an avid golf fan throughout his life and enjoyed outdoor summer activities with friends going to Table Rock Lake and the Finley River at Lindenlure. He loved sports and was a steadfast fan of the Green Bay Packers, Saint Louis Cardinals baseball team, Kansas City Chiefs and Saint Louis Blues. His friendship was a gift that many were blessed to receive.

He is survived by his wife Kathryn Christy Bartee of Springfield; daughter Shields Bartee of St. Louis; step-daughter Taylor Denning (Antonio) of St. Louis; brother Clark Bartee (Odette) and niece, Sierra, of Houston, Texas; uncle Neale Bartee (Elaine) of Jonesboro, Arkansas and a host of lifelong friends.

A Celebration will be held Sunday, August 30, 2026, from 1:00 - 3:00 PM at the B.P.O.E Springfield #409 located at 2223 East Bennett Street, Springfield, MO 65804.
